With erosion at the community beach an ongoing concern, the DPPOA Board of Directors began working with the Coastline Design Group in 2021(with a pause in 2020 due to Covid-19) to address the issue. Engineering designs were submitted to the Maryland Department of the Environment, and permits were approved in 2023. Requests for Proposals were mailed to a number of local marine contractors, with four attending the pre-bid meeting and three submitting an estimate. The contract, in the amount of $92,770.00, was awarded to the Resource Restoration Group, LLC in August of 2023, and work began shortly thereafter. The project was completed by November at a final cost of $94,978.00. The beach is now monitored on a regular basis, with no further erosion observed.
